This is one of the most insulting things that I have ever seen, it makes me so mad I actually want to cry. I can’t believe magazines think that they can just dip a woman in brown paint, give her clothes from my culture to put on for a couple hours and then have audacity to call her an “African Queen”. Growing up I heard every joke about Africans and saw the negative stereotypes portrayed by the media that tried to make me feel so bad about where I come from. Yet Ive noticed when fashion magazine want to do spreads portraying poise and exoticness they often turn to Africa ( and many other foreign continents/nations) proving time and again that Africa is more than the negative images you see in the media) but this time, to try and take parts of my beautiful culture just to have white women play the role of an “African Queen” proves that beauty cannot be seen in our countries/cultures unless it is represented by White people.
hmmmm relax then study (hoping to actually be productive haha)

haha thank you. i swear you can come off anon, im not someone to judge, you can talk to me about anything! even if we’re not close! anyway ill answer this nonetheless. I guess stop making food such a massive part of your life, like think of it as a source of wellbeing, and sustenance, and sometimes indulgence, but then get on with other things - like getting lost in the things you love doing! Don’t make it such a big focus, like we find ourselves doing too often these days. Stay active, stay busy - and keep things in perspective. If you want a piece of cake, have a piece of cake. Just realise you don’t actually need a massive slab or two to fix that craving haha. Increase what exercise you’re doing - try new ones, work at the ones you hate, they’ll become the ones you love (if they don’t, keep increasing/playing with the ones you love). Make sure you love what you’re doing because that’s the only way you’ll keep doing it. Have fun with it, enjoy feeling healthy and feeding yourself well - try new healthy meals! Personally I love a big breakfast, but later on in the day my meals get smaller because I’m distracted by other things that I don’t want to halt, and I prefer lighter meals later on. I try to do some form of exercise everyday, but then again, I don’t always. I just try to keep it in perspective you know. Feel free to ask other questions (off anon - you dont have to be brave, its allgood), honestly i dont mind at all xx
